W.A.L.F. stands for Winter Afro-Latin Festival. W.A.L.F is created in 2018 in Exeter, Devon. Our aims and objectives are simple – we want to promote multi-cultural music and dance programmes around Devon, and to reach out and share joy with all of our local communities. We run weekly Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, and Urban Kiz classes in a number of locations and every year we host a huge international dance festival. Dance is an international language that binds all ethnicities and societies around the world. It can have a huge positive impact on our daily lives as well as our societies collectively. It can also bring people together from different countries, backgrounds and races to exchange cultures, traditions and ideas. Afro-Latin dance has a long historic culture, broad diversity and varied music heritage. It’s this rich cultural background that we want to share. Exeter is in the heart of Devon and has a large number of ethnically diverse groups, not least because of the many overseas students who come here to study. Many of these students and a growing number of locals regularly dance with us on weekly basis. Due to the diverse nature of the programmes we have been running over the years, W.A.L.F now has an established reputation for professionalism in all things dance and regularly attract internationally renowned teachers to Devon. Our guest teachers come from many ethnic backgrounds and share our passion and enthusiasm for making Afro-Latin dance accessible to all. We think there is much to gain by being associated with our programmes, and we hope you’ll join us!

Programme
